THE “CHALLENGE OF THE TAPESTRIES”
The series of the Battle of Pavia between study and dissemination
Pavia, Civic Museums, Friday 30 January 2026
As part of the major exhibition “Pavia 1525: the arts in the Renaissance and the tapestries of the battle”, extended to February 24, 2026, a day of study and dissemination of the series of seven tapestries of the Battle of Pavia, on exceptional loan from the Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte, is promoted.
The day, open to the public, will see the participation of experts in the precious artifacts and the battle of Pavia. In the morning, in the conference room of the Civic Museums, a round table will be held, moderated by Laura Aldovini and Mario Rizzo, during which scholars will address various topics: from conservation to collecting, from figurative to exhibition aspects, up to the debate, in particular, on the sequence of exhibition of the seven tapestries. The discussion will then continue in the afternoon, in the exhibition room, in front of the magnificent artifacts.
